Les Compagnons du Devoir :
A tradition of excellence in service of contemporary projects.

For centuries, the Compagnons du Devoir and du Tour de France have embodied French craftsmanship excellence. As heirs to a living tradition, they preserve rare skills through a one-of-a-kind apprenticeship. A true school of life, this organization combines high standards, knowledge transfer, innovation, and a spirit of solidarity, with a focus on the human aspect at the heart of learning.

A unique training program.

The famous Tour de France allows young apprentices under the age of 25 to train in a trade while traveling through various regions. This apprenticeship model promotes adaptability, autonomy, and personal growth. Each stage offers the opportunity to learn from passionate professionals, while also being exposed to new regional cultures and diverse practices. This journey shapes artisans and professionals who are recognized for their technical excellence, discipline, and open-mindedness.

A wealth of trades and expertise.

The Compagnons du Devoir train apprentices in over 30 trades, organized into various sectors. Each trade is taught with the same passion, respecting traditions while integrating the latest technical advancements. The goal is clear: to train well-rounded professionals who are capable of innovating without renouncing their artisanal heritage.

A key role in heritage restoration and contemporary creation.

The Compagnons are not only guardians of the past; they are also builders of the present. Their expertise was notably showcased during the iconic restoration project of Notre-Dame de Paris. 1,300 Compagnons du Devoir participated in this monumental work, a symbol of French heritage. Thanks to their skills, ancient techniques were preserved and implemented with precision, while incorporating innovative approaches. This project perfectly illustrates the ability of the Compagnons to blend tradition and modernity in the service of large-scale achievements.

Committed to exceptional craftsmanship.

As an active supporter of the promotion of manual trades and the transmission of skills, we are proud to support the Compagnons du Devoir. Defending excellence in craftsmanship is about preserving a cultural, economic, and human wealth that is invaluable for future generations.
